Job Description

Seeking an energetic individual with experience in working on scalable, Carrier Grade Applications. This position serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in multiple disciplines including Certification, Tier 3 and Tier 4 technical support. This position performs support to IMS (including Virtualized) Voice, Data & IP Platforms in the delivery of highly complex support for network elements, platforms, systems, applications and services. This position performs expert level diagnostic investigation of customer-impacting network issues and provides technical leadership/guidance and advice to other engineers who are diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing complex issues within the IMS Networks. This position analyzes design, reliability and maintenance problems to the relevant organizations and provides design improvement recommendations to improve the customer experience or ease of operation long-term. The required support is performed over a wide array of platforms in the Network including, but not limited to SBC, MGW, BGW, MGCF, HSS, CSCF, BGCF, TAS, LCS, IP, SMS equipment (from Nokia, Oracle, etc.). This position works with vendors on providing technical solutions for the system users. This role requires that the engineer participate in an "on call rotation" on an as needed basis to ensure that expert level support is available on a 24x7 basis.

Requires extensive knowledge of VoLTE, SIP, IMS and other IP technologies. Preferred experience with Openstack, Heat templates, Python, Ansible and other scripting.

 

  • Primarily performs core and network certification testing in the IMS domain; create test plans
  • Works with different internal teams and external vendors on interoperability testing with VoLTE/IMS equipment
  • Tier 3/4 support - troubleshooting network issues related to IMS
  • Develop tools to automate the deployment and operations processes

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science & Related fields
  • 3-5 years (masters or work experience) of VoLTE, CVoIP, IMS experience
  • 7-15 years of Telecom experience preferred
  • Subject Matter Expert in SIP protocol and SIP Call flow
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working Experience with Troubleshooting, capture tools like IRIS, Wireshark, and Load Generators, etc.
  • Experience in IMS Domain/Architecture, LTE, Wireless Mobility Network Domain
  • Good Network topology and various interfaces(S1,S6a, S11, SGI, CX, GM, RX, SY, GX, GY and etc)
  • Protocol Literacy: SIP, Diameter, ENUM, DNS, SS7, ISDN, MAP, IS41, TCAP, ISUP, INAP, ISUP, BICC, SCCP, H.248, GTP, IBCF, Softswitch and PSTN gateway
  • Experience in sizing, dimensioning and scaling of network elements like CSCF (P/I/S/E), IMS HSS, BGCF, MGCF, SGW, MGW, SBC, MRF, TAS, Messaging, Conferencing, SNG, MNP servers etc.
  • Working knowledge of telecom networks like IMS, 2G, 2.5G, 3G and LTE (MME, SGW, PGW, and MME).
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure dynamic environment and adjust to priority changes
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Good understanding of call processing between end to end system
  • BA degree
  • AT&T experience preferred
