Job Description

The Driver/Inventory Control Specialist/Resource Recovery Specialist is a hybrid position combining the duties of a Driver/Inventory Control Specialist and Resource Recovery Specialist. The Driver/Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for delivering customer equipment to various customer sites and manage inventory. The Resource Recovery Specialist is responsible for the selective extraction of disposed materials for a specific next use. May be assigned additional responsibilities based on business need and client.

Inventory Control

Transport equipment to customer location

  • Load and Unload truck and materials
  • Physically move material into customer’s garage Inventory location. This will involve use of pallet jack, dollies, etc.
  • Follow all safety policies and common sense practices to avoid personal injury and damage to customer property.
  • Ensure all material and equipment is continually secure from theft.
  • Fulfill individual material requests of customer’s U-verse technicians by moving material from garage Inventory location to technicians’ company vehicles or designated “bins.” Use the “First In / First Out” method of picking inventory.
  • Receive and palletize all material returned by U-verse technicians and designated for refurbishment; coordinate w/ customer’s freight carrier for pick-up.
  • Use customer’s barcode scanning application to record incoming/outgoing material in customer’s Inventory Management database(s).
  • Perform periodic inspections and reconciliations of garage Inventory stock levels and update customer’s Inventory Management database(s).
  • Use computer email application to send Daily/Weekly Job Activity Reports, Time Reports, Mileage Reports and other data and information as required by Genesis management.
  • Effectively communicate with customer personnel to accomplish his/her responsibilities

 Resource Recovery

  • Identify and separate disposed materials in accordance with California State regulations and client’s procedures – this requires sorting through customer trash and recycle bins
  • Identify non-compliant material and take proper course of action
  • Maintain collection areas in accordance with California State Regulations and client’s procedures
  • Keep receptacles secured to prevent unauthorized access
  • Move materials as needed. This may involve use of pallet jack, dollies and other necessary equipment
  • Conduct inspections of receptacles and accumulation areas to ensure requirements are followed
  • Order new accumulation containers as required.
  • Initiate pickup request when receptacles are at or near capacity
  • Maintain a detail log as instructed by supervisor
  • Report exceptions to Supervisor and Client management
  • Assures Methods and Procedures used in inspecting, identifying and correcting conditions are strictly followed as determined by Operations management.
  • Responsible for storing and securing all Company and client’s tools, materials and equipment
  • Responsible for daily inspections of all equipment including but not limited to operations, effectiveness and cleanliness.
  • Submission of all reports upon completion of each site
  • Attend all safety meetings scheduled by operations management
  • Responsible for maintaining maximum number of monthly deviations set by operations management
  • Be accessible during off duty hours by cell phone or pager
  • Work shifts will vary based on customer requirements.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Must have Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience driving 26-32 foot Truck
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Moderate Level of Computer Experience – MS Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, be reliable, accurate and dependable.
  • Ability to work Weekends/Holidays and additional shifts as required by customer
