Job Description

The VoIP Test Automation Architect will lead a team of talented automation engineers on the Enterprise VoIP Certification and Support team. He/she will be integral to the expansion of the current Automation architecture/solution which certifies new features/functionalities and capacity augments across a diverse portfolio of VoIP services.

The individual must be adept in understanding complex enterprise-grade VoIP architectures, partnering with peer organizations, and leading cross-functional teams in this critical role. The candidate should possess 5+ years of experience in Network Operations, Engineering, IT operations, and automation of VoIP and/or Mobility services.

The individual must have a strong background in programming languages, architecture, networking protocols, design, and principles of data and packet-based networks.  He/she must possess strong organizational skills, be action oriented, results driven, and work with minimal direction. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure are critical in this role.

  • Responsible for automation platform architecture and design, and developing, installing, and configuring test automation infrastructure for automation of End to End call flow testing of VoIP services and platforms.
  • Oversee development automation test cases based on use case requirements, review existing test plan, test execution management and manual/automation testing.
  • Oversee implementation of automation solution in both Lab and Production environment.
  • Train and drive adoption of the test automation solution.
  • Provide troubleshooting support as needed.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance and Software testing with an in-depth knowledge of Software development life cycle and testing methodologies using manual and automation testing tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in computer science, engineering, telecom, or related IT field.
  • Creation of scalable and flexible automation solutions and CD/CI tools for large scale (Tier 1 Wireline and Mobile Service Provider) testing.
  • Strong development of maintainable and testable code in multiple programming languages (preferably Python, Shell Script, Perl, JavaScript, Java)
  • Hands-on experience in working with Open Source frameworks and tools (preferably Robot Framework, Protractor, Selenium Webdrivers, Selenium Grid, Appium, JMeter, Jenkins, SVN/Git, Cucumber, Asterisk PBX, SIPp)
  • Hands-on experience with Wireline and Mobility call flow testing
  • Strong API knowledge on SOAP and REST based Web Services Testing is a plus
  • Proficient in the development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence to test automation and analytics
  • Expertise in understanding and debugging capabilities via traces/captures (SIP, Wireshark, etc.)
  • Deep experience in testing applications on different OS (iOS/Android/Windows/MAC OS) and web browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox) simultaneously
  • Strong experience in gathering and documenting technical requirements, specifications, and solutions.
  • Passionate about learning new technologies that can be leveraged to enhance existing projects/tools
  • Motivated to learn and share the knowledge to the team members
  • Passionate about troubleshooting test automation issues, identifying procedural bottlenecks that can be efficiently and effectively automated, and willingness to assist others as needed
  • Willingness to work after hours as needed
  • Knowledge of OSI Model (specifically SIP/RTP/Networking/Mobility) to support VoIP test automation
